So today we start in a two part segment about the chain restaurant called , yup, you guessed it, Applebees.
Now, i have both a good and a bad story about this world wide food chain, but just for good measure, lets start with the bad one.
Like i said before, i can be a little picky, and i also tend to criticize too much, well maybe not too much, but definitely too loudly. So let me start by saying that from the beginning our waitress was severely lacking, she had no personality and only stayed at our table for a brief moment to get our drinks. Now, my boyfriends sister-in-law and i ordered the same drink, a 100 calorie margarita, and we both asked for no salt. Now our drinks came, brought by a waitress we hadn't met yet, and not our own waitress, and my drink is handed to me covered in salt. Great, this lunch was already starting out bad how much worse could it get. Well for me, it seems quite lot.
After i get a new drink, this time without salt, our waitress finally decides to make an appearance to get our orders, so i decide to get a meal off of their two for twenty menu, so i order the shrimp and chicken dish, now i think I've already stated that i despise onions, the taste, the texture, it just plain grosses me out, well this dish came with onions, so i simply asked our server to order the meal without them, i'd think that this request wouldn't be too hard for someone to follow, again, i was wrong.
Our waitress didn't show up again, so when our food was brought out, all except for my food that is, it was brought out by yet another sever. i on the other hand had to wait another five minutes before our original waitress decided to bring me my food, and when she did, take a wild guess what was wrong with it.. If you guessed that they put onions on the plate you would be right. So, now, not only is my lunch late, but it has the one thing i asked them not to put on the plate. They bring it back, all they do is scrape the onions off of the plate and return it to me.
Whatever, i think, by this time my other three companions have already finished half of their food so i try to soldier on, but my chicken was both dry and rubbery, i was only able to eat about half of it. Sometimes i think cooking and serving is relegated to morons, needless to say, i had a horrible experience, as happens a lot when i make the drastic mistake in choosing to eat out instead of staying home.

The Black Cap
So i'll start here with a little place called The Black Cap in North Conway n.h.
My botfriend and i were in dire need of a date night without our two kids, so i dropped the kids off with grandparents, kidnapped my significant other and headed off to a little place called North Conway. We had no idea what our plans were for the night, just that we needed to do something fun, but first things first, we needed to eat.
We decided we wanted to try this resturaunt in town that we had never been to called the muddy moose, but, the waiting line was way too long, so we hopped back in our vehicle and on our way to what we thought might be a beter choice in venue for our date night dinner. We ended up choosing this place called the Black Cap, supposedly this place was on the verge of being considered fine dining, but as our experience should prove, it was no such thing.
So, we walk through the doors into this place strewn with high tables and dim lighting, expecting a good dining experience, what we got was probably the worst experience of my life.
The first problem was that there was no line and obciously empty tables but it still took the hostess ten minutes to seat us, mainly due to the fact that she wasn't at her post. We were finally seated and out waitress came over, but before we could order our drinks she took off again. Ten minutes later she comes back but seems very distracted and unwilling to take the time to answer my questions.
We eventually put our order in, I ordered the lobster roll and my boyfriend a hamburger.. now those both seem to me like very easy items to prepare so it confused us both when after forty minutes our meals still hadn't arrived, and neither had our waitress who it seems, by all accounts completely abandoned us to our own devices.
We stopped another server who turned out to be the bar tender, and asked him if he could possibly find out what happened to our dinner and our server, ten minutes later he finally presented us with our food. Now, let me say this, our food was mediocre, the lobster roll had little taste and little mayonnaise, and i believe my boyfriends burger was cold. But by this time we were starving, so we ate our food and prepared to leave. The only problem was we still had no waitress. Now it's not like she had completely left the building, she just stopped comming to our table.
We ended up talking to the bartender, who was the only other server that even walked by our table the whole night, we told him our complaint and he comped one of my boyfriends beers and checked us out. Needless to say, we left, leaving absolutely no tip and completely disgusted with our whole experience.
Now this is one night when i believe we would have made a better choice if we had chosen to stay home. Thbis is definately one restruraunt i would never recommend to any of my family or friends. And i have learned thet appearances can be deceiving.

where to begin
So i'll be the first to admit that i am picky as hell when it comes to eating out at resturaunts. I don't think that i am alone though, especially when it comes to the wait staff and food prep. I like my food a certain way, especially if i have to pay more money than it's worth to get it. There are a few things that i just won't eat and i don't like in my food, the biggest thing being onions, the second peppers. Now, i try very hard to make sure i don't order menu items with those particular vegetables in them but often enough that can't be avoided.
Now, when it comes to the wait staff, i don't think it's too much to ask that my server be courteous, interested in my happiness and someone who actually listens to thier customer's wants and needs. it's also nice if they check on you often enough to make sure you are happy with your food and drinks.
So, what brings me to start writing about my dining experiences is the fact that more often than not, i have to suffer through the stupidity and often just plain disinterest of servers at many if not all of the places i have dined out, and also the multitude of mistakes made at my expense when it comes to the food i order, and honestly, i don't think my requests are too difficult or demanding. And so we begin.
